PRiya mahtani

Priya Mahtani is a writer, facilitator and founder of JOYAA — a living platform exploring love, embodiment and the alchemy of human experience through story, relational practice and collective spaces.

Her work centres on the intelligence of the body, the wisdom of the heart, and the transformative potential of shared fields of connection. Through writing, women’s circles and immersive experiences, she creates spaces where presence, coherence and a deeper sense of belonging can be felt and lived.

Alongside her own creative work, Priya has spent over three decades supporting individuals and organisations in communications and storytelling — helping to shape voice, narrative and the articulation of a deeper sense of purpose across a wide range of educational, social and creative initiatives.

She brings this experience into her work through JOYAA, alongside a long-standing background in education and community-building, including work with Steiner Waldorf schools in the UK and the Auroville Youth Education & Training project in South India.

In 2019, she founded the School of Sophia and hosted the online summits Festival of the Child, supporting parents and educators to nurture the next generation in a rapidly changing world.

Her current work reflects an evolving focus on the sacred feminine, relational intelligence and the integration of inner and outer transformation. She is currently co-authoring a non-fiction book on Biodanza, embarking on a Biodanza facilitator training, and working on a literary memoir, Heart Awake, exploring heartbreak as a path of healing and transformation.
